As the home to some of the world’s most renowned red grape varieties, Bordeaux is about as classic it gets. Some of the most famous, and famously expensive, wines in the world come from this region. Lot 161 is a traditional Bordeaux red blend, made from classic grapes, and served up at an everyday price that can’t be beat!
This wine is made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot grapes that are grown in vineyards located in the Bordeaux appellation, about 60 kilometers south of the city of Bordeaux. The growers are committed to sustainable farming. Elegant and full bodied, the wine has spicy dark fruit aromas and a rich, silky texture.
TASTING NOTES
Ripe red plum and red berry fruit burst from the glass. On the palate, ripe tannins and a balanced finish make for a fuller bodied wine with more intense red primary fruit aromas due to the higher percentage of Merlot. Pair with roast lamb with garlic and rosemary or a spread of hard sheep cheeses.
